In short

What is business cloud printing?

It is a service that sends documents created by a cloud application to a physical office printer in a controlled way. Nebulas uses an authorised desktop client as the secure bridge: no AWS credential is installed on the workstation.

How it works

A clear route from document to paper.

The gateway and client coordinate every stage, so users do not have to download, locate and reprint PDFs manually.

  1. 01

Your business app creates the PDF

The application creates the document and selects the destination local queue.

  2. 02

    The gateway protects the job

The job remains tenant-isolated and is available only to an authorised device.

  3. 03

    Print Client claims it

The resident client downloads the PDF and selects the exact Windows, macOS or Linux queue.

  4. 04

The result returns to the cloud

PRINTED or FAILED closes the loop and makes the outcome verifiable.

Features

Built for real sites, teams and printers.

A dependable operational flow without exposing the local network to inbound connections.

01

Exact routing

Send work to a queue configured for a site, printer, tray or paper format.

02

Duplicate protection

Atomic job claims prevent two clients from processing the same document.

03

Automatic recovery

Retry temporary download failures and resume after a network interruption.

04

Operational status

Heartbeats, completion timestamps and bounded errors show what happened.

05

Start with Windows

The signed package registers in the user’s Startup Apps without elevation.

06

Runtime included

Native packages bundle Java 17, so workstations do not need a separate Java install.

Secure by design

The printer stays local. Control stays central.

The device is approved in the browser after a recent login and strong MFA. Grants are renewable and revocable; printing stops when the user, licence or workstation is no longer valid.

01

Device authorisation

Each workstation receives a dedicated grant after user approval.

02

Protected credential

Windows DPAPI, macOS Keychain or Linux Secret Service protects the renewal credential.

03

Least access

The client uses only the authenticated Print Gateway to register, claim work and report results.

Trust boundary

  • No cloud credentials on the PC
  • Short-lived access tokens
  • Tenant and device isolation

Frequently asked questions

Direct answers about cloud printing.

What you need to evaluate, install and operate Nebulas Print Client.

01What is Nebulas Print Client?

It is the desktop agent that securely connects Nebulas Cloud Printing to print queues installed on a local workstation.

02Do I need to install Java?

No. Native packages include the Java 17 runtime required by the application.

03Does the client open ports on the company network?

No. The client starts outbound HTTPS connections to the Print Gateway and needs no inbound cloud connection to the LAN.

04Which documents can I print?

The current version processes PDF documents and sends each job to the local queue selected by the business application.

05What happens when the Internet connection drops?

The client pauses its loop, applies controlled retries and resumes automatically when the service is reachable.

06Can I revoke a workstation?

Yes. Device grants are checked periodically and can be centrally revoked; revocation stops polling and heartbeat activity.

07How do I select a tray or paper size?

For the first version, configure one operating-system queue for each required combination and route the job to that exact queue.
